Members and friends of the Swedenborgian Church, we are happily planning to gather again in a lovely conference hotel setting that is also associated with a college: the Babson Executive Conference Center, adjacent to Babson College in suburban Boston. Again, this year we will provide robust virtual support for all business sessions and worship services, as well as many of the educational events (Mini Courses). We warmly welcome people to join us in-person or online. This year, our convention for in-person attendees will offer participant-friendly accommodation, with all activities (lodging, meals, business sessions, and event services) in the hotel and conference building. Our theme is “Creating Harmony: Art as Spiritual Practice” as we return to the top of the cycle of seven themes with the Year of the Lord.
Keynote Address
Creating Harmony: Art as Spiritual Practice By Bronwen Mayer Henry
Bronwen will explore how creativity can be an accessible, everyday path to healing, finding inner steadiness, and meaningful engagement with the world. She was featured in the March Messenger (tinyurl.com/mvnpz7kd).
The Convention Preacher this year will be Rev. Catherine Lauber (whose sermon is featured on page 45), and our host is the Church on the Hill in Boston. There will be twelve stimulating Mini Courses that are a highlight of our gathering every summer. The business sessions will allow us to continue steering our special-purpose church that heralds a Holy City awaiting us all.
