SCYL Annual Winter Break Retreat
Location: Almont New Church Assembly in Berlin, MI
Dates: December 27, 4 pm – December 30, 10 am
Please register by December 21.
Cost: $75 with a household maximum of $150. You can pay using cash, check, or online (Zelle or PayPal). Payment is collected at the end of the registration form. Assistance is available with the cost. Email Kurt at kfekete@hotmail.com!

Details: For ages 13 – 18. Bring a sleeping bag (if you are not flying), PJs, a towel, personal items, musical instruments, and a friend! At our retreats, we offer life skills and spiritual sessions based on the principles of the Swedenborgian Church. We strive for a safe, secure, and inclusive environment to discuss and share relevant and meaningful ideas that help with the challenges youth face today.
2024 Theme: “Heaven and Hell: Here and Now”
Emanuel Swedenborg’s blockbuster book Heaven and Hell astounded the world when it was published in 1758. But is it still relevant and useful for us today? Many of Swedenborg’s descriptions of heaven and hell help clarify for us what we need to do in THIS life, to grow our ‘angel-selves.’ He helps us to understand the consequences of choosing ‘hellish’ things in this life, to assist us in discerning and choosing a heavenly path. We’ll explore this fascinating topic at this retreat and also have our special Exodus to Independence ceremony for our teens exiting the SCYL.
