Convention 2026 Business Meeting Report and Election Results

By Beki Greenwood, Recording Secretary

The annual convention business sessions of the Swedenborgian Church of North America convened at the Babson Executive Conference Center in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Many thanks to the Boston Church on the Hill for the gifts and hospitality they offered the attendees.

The Credentials Committee reported that there were a total of 100 delegates in attendance, out of a total potential of 178. Nearly all of the associations or conferences within the Church were represented, with the exception of New York, Eastern Canada Conference, Western Canada Conference, and the At-Large class.

The proposed amendment to Article XX as printed in the May 2026 issue of the Messenger regarding the removal of language pertaining to the governance and maintenance of the National Church in Washington, DC was passed.

A variety of reports were given, including Our Daily Bread (ODB), Spiritual Sunshine (swedenborgiancommunity.org), the Messenger, the Helen Keller Spiritual Life Collaborative, the Swedenborg House in Washington, DC, the Chicago Swedenborg Library, Bloom Haven, the Social Justice Committee and Swedenborgians in Action Against Racism (SAAR), the Swedenborg Foundation, the Center for Swedenborgian Studies (CSS), the New York New Church Legacy Fund, and others.

Convention 2027 will be held in St. Louis, Missouri. For a full text of the minutes from the business sessions of this year’s convention, please see the 2026 issue of the Journal, which is expected to be available this fall.
